Due to the high temperature in Ningbo in recent days, severe convective weather occurs frequently in the afternoon, which is not only easy to cause stress phenomenon of live cattle, but also will have a great impact on the safety of the transport ship into port and cargo handling.
"After learning the cargo information, the maritime department immediately opened up a green channel, and worked out the best time for the ship to enter the port, the route and the unloading plan with the shipping agent and the unloading terminal, so as to ensure that the cattle could avoid bad weather and be safely, efficiently and quickly received and unloaded." Ningbo Zhenhai Marine Department law enforcement officers said.
"In order to prevent and control the epidemic and improve the efficiency of receiving and unloading live cattle, we have set up an aerial aisle between the cabin and the feeder car in advance to avoid contact between people and cargo, so that the cattle can be transported 'without landing'. At 9 PM on July 28, the first live imported cow passed through a channel set up by the staff of the Zhenhai port area and walked into a truck bound for Cixi. "The staff in the port area wear a full set of protective equipment, improve the closed management of the operation area, and keep a close watch on the connection between live cattle disembarking, quantity counting, loading and unloading the port, etc. At the same time, the shift system is adopted to improve the handling and unloading efficiency and realize all-weather handling and unloading of imported live cattle." Since the first handling of imported live cattle in 2018, the town Department has established a good cooperative relationship with customs, maritime affairs, border inspection and other parties, and formed a set of mature handling of imported live cattle. Up to now, the town Haigang area receives the discharge import live cattle already nearly 30 thousand head.
